Remove mod tags when saving maps in default RED

Open romek-rf opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

PROBLEM: In RED, when a level is saved for a mod, it adds a mod tag to the level. Currently there is no way to remove the mod tag to play the levels in default RF.

IDEAS FOR SOLUTION: When levels are saved in default RED, clear mod tag. Or add mod checkbox in Level Properties.

Why do you open editor with mod in the first place?

Why do you open editor with mod in the first place?

I'm pretty sure he's looking for a way to convert maps that were developed for a conversion mod to the base game (ie. no longer require a mod to load in-game)

Why do you open editor with mod in the first place?

In order to make a map for a mod (Total conversion like Snow'd Out, Iron Sun Mod, etc.) you have to open the editor with a mod selected. Those maps cannot be played in default RF. Adding a way to remove the mod tag would allow mappers to take maps they made for mods and re-release them for default RF.

And yes, what goober said.
