Pokemon Blaze Black / Volt White boots a white screen
- Device model: AYN Odin 2
- Android version: 13
Problem:
Pokemon Blaze Black does not launch, it's been a problematic title for MelonDS in the past, used to just white screen, they fixed it a while ago
(the desktop version of MelonDS runs it perfectly fine. tested with the artifact of this action)
but here it's a white screen
Steps to reproduce (if applicable):
- Grab a copy of the patch and patch it to a US copy of Pokemon Black / White SHA-256 for patched full version: f8609c04a3492936c56bd4f90a4b08a68980d94ef42fc10e6a89c2ce0aed2218
- Boot the game and voila
I'd like to refresh this issue as of https://github.com/rafaelvcaetano/melonDS-android/commit/106521ba8c7cf5f9ac2d2c00e67422bbba03eb70 .
Tested on 4 total devices:
- AYN Odin 2
- AYN Odin 2 Mini
- Retroid Pocket 4 Pro
- Retroid Pocket 5
still just a white screen, confused why this is the case tbh.
@GlazedBelmont Have you been able to find a workaround for this? I'm having the same issue on Pixel Fold 9 and I don't want to use retroarch :( It is even more weird that the original games do launch

Unfortunately no, haven't found any fixes
@GlazedBelmont Good news! I found a fix! Here are the steps:
- Download a genuine version of the game (Maybe check beforehand if it work with the emulator) and patch it with the romhack
- Go on
https://hexed.it/and open the newly patched rom - On the right side (
Go to) type0x12- This is the address that determine if the rom is either DSI or DS - In the Hex editor itself, your cursor should be on a
02change that to00 - Save as and you now have a fully working romhack! :D
