Full Motion Video Content Extension

Define metadata extension for full motion video (FMV)

Consider adding the following as FMV-specific metadata:

  • time start & end (from platform)
  • time start & end when indexed
  • track for the platform
  • track for the sensor
  • mission_name
  • callsign
  • optional block describing classification or distribution controls for content
  • links to download original (complete and the ability to subselect)
  • links to thumbnail for search
  • links to url template for thumbnails over time
  • links to raw live stream

current core spec has specified the geometry as a polygon or multipolygon. We may need to review this for this case.

Renamed issue title to 'extension' to be in line with https://github.com/radiantearth/stac-spec/pull/189 (OGC people define 'profile' as a subset, so it was even more confusing than I had thought).

What is the status of this extension? Is there a draft / partial document? Is there any prototype work on an implementation?
