Search box only works from the main page (local docs, minimal install?)

A while ago (I think at least since 6.9, possibly even 6.8), the search box stopped working, except on the main documentation page.

If I go to file:///home/georges/.racket/snapshot/doc/index.html, type number? in the search box and press enter, I get redirected to file:///home/georges/.racket/snapshot/doc/search/index.html?q=number%3F and everything works fine.

If I go to one of the results, e.g. file:///home/georges/.racket/snapshot/pkgs/racket-doc/scribblings/reference/doc/search/index.html?q=number%3F, and from there type number? in the search box and press enter, I get redirected to file:///home/georges/.racket/snapshot/pkgs/racket-doc/scribblings/reference/doc/search/index.html?q=number%3F, which does not exist.

This happens both on Chromium (Linux) and Firefox (Linux). If that matters, I have a minimal install, so all documentation is installed in ~/.racket.
