Failed to enter vendor mode. Genuine Samsung Evo Plus?
I decided to try it on my Samsung Evo Plus 32gb microsd, but I always get "Failed to enter vendor mode. Genuine Samsung Evo Plus?". Does that mean the card isn't supported or am I doing something wrong with the program?
You are probably using it right, there are lots of reasons for this error: fake samsung card, wrong model, wrong version, etc. As long as you are running on a laptop/phone with a real (not usb) sd card reader then I'm afraid it doesn't look like your card will work.

It looks like my working ones, but it's not possible to tell just by looking at it - the only way to know is to try it. Latest versions have had this loophole closed, so now you're looking for old stock. I think you'd be lucky to buy a new one now that worked.
Could it be that the unlock code is simply different now? I bought my cards from the aliexpress seller that you link on https://richard.burtons.org/2016/07/31/cid-change-on-sd-card-update-evoplus_cid/ this week but the cards look slightly different now (the plus in EVO+ is now spelt out) and your program says Unlock command failed.
I previously tried some of my other cards (Samsung and other brands) and most would report success but then the CID would not have changed.
BTW your code prints the "Success!" message independent of the result of the last ioctl() -- if it succeeded program_cid() will print it and if it fails main() will print the same message. :)

I finally ended here with the same problem. This is the CID of my samsung card, I think it's genuine samsung.

I installed ubuntu in my netbook and compiled evoplus_cid for my 32 bit system since ooriginal binary failed. Now it works fine but I get this error and I wonder if someone solved it.

I tried and purchased another one unsuccessfully. It looks like impossible to find a proper SD to program. I only found some custom CID card sellers, they sell you a SD with your desired CID but not writable so I guess I must surrender even when I found a little old well equipped machine to do it.

As this method worked on specific cards that were made 6 years ago, and stopped being made shortly after, I'm not surprised you can't still buy one easily.
