[Bug]: River 3 batteries powering off AC ports while doing network adjustments.....?
What happened?
So I've got a weird bug that might be related to this integration, but I'm not certain (I've also reached out to EcoFlow support).
Yesterday I was flashing new firmware on my router. I had to restart the router several times for various reasons. I have two River 3 batteries and it seemed like around the time of each router restart both my batteries would turn off the AC outputs. One was powering the networking equipment and the other was at the other end of the house powering equipment for a fish tank.
Prior to messing with my router, I had wifi networks being served from both the router and a separate access point. After the initial router flash, I only had wifi being served by the AP. I have multiple VLANs and an SSID for each. My batteries are connected to one network and my ESPhome (bluetooth proxy) devices are on another network. One battery is next to the HASS server and its internal bluetooth adapter, the other is by an ESPhome device.
Once my router was all setup again, the random shutdowns stopped.
Anyone else seen something like this?

Hello,
this does not seem related to this integration, unless you have automation that controls AC ports, I don't think there is anything that can switch it. I only had AC port switch one time unexpectedly due to overvoltage and I did mess with my network equipment several times during this time, River 3 running 24/7.
Did you have your River connected to wifi and was there a firmware available at a time? I think there was (or still is) a problem where River 3 tries to auto-update its firmware (which can happen on internet reconnection), it switched off AC ports.
I don't believe I have any automations setup to control the AC ports right now. I do seem to have my units on wifi. My River 3 units have been up to date for a long time (last firmware was in February). Right now my best guess is there is some bug causing the AC to turn off if the network gets into some specific state (wifi down for too long? wifi connected but no internet/DHCP?).
@BenBergman were you able to find what was causing the AC ports to turn off? I've had this happen twice in three weeks. River 3 Pro is connected to WiFi but blocked from the internet. I've since disabled the AC Port switch in HA created by the ha-ef-ble integration to see if it resolves the issue.
After my router was back online my issues went away, so I never ended up digging into it further. I should probably disable my router/internet again some time to see if I can narrow down the root cause.
I've since allowed the River 3 Pro to communicate with the internet (wifi was always connected) and also found a setting that might apply. In the App under Settings > More Settings > Auto Timeout, there is an option for AC timeout. By default it was 1 hour, I've changed it to Never. I'll leave it with the internet reachable and AC timeout set to never and report back if this resolves the issue.
@mwolter805 @BenBergman If you mean river 3 plus (I cant find R3 Pro anywhere on ecoflow’s site) i would check to see if FW 1.33.81.57 is available for your unit, as it fixes an issue where AC output was unexpectedly turned off in some situations.
I just have the regular River 3. It looks like I installed an update since having issues as the latest firmware for my unit is more recent that this ticket.
I also checked the AC timeout and I have it set to 12-hours (longer than the interval of my failures, though I vaguely recall messing with it when I had issues). But the description says it should only take effect when there is no load and my batteries always have some load (not that it necessarily acts as it claims).
My 2 cents on automations, keep them all in 1 place so you have a consistent place for logs and to limit confusion. Right now, you have the device determine when to turn off itself and its AC ports. I would set both to never and use only HA to automate the device. That way you have HA logs to help determine when and why a change happened and to limit the possibility the device and HA become out of sync.
@sidjohn1 You're right, it's the plus. Checked and the version was not 1.33.81.57. Updated, hopefully this resolves the issue. Nothing like being out of town and everything going offline!
PS Be aware it turns off the AC power ports when updating. Power is restored after completion but It's unnerving when a device intended to be used for computer equipment turns off the AC ports with no warning.
@mwolter805, just a heads up. 1.33.81.57 doesn’t look like it fixed the AC port random shutdown issue on the R3+ . I think its happening less on mine w/ the new FW so your MMV.
