Management UI: AMQP 1.0 consumer filters are not displayed anywhere

Open Gsantomaggio opened this issue 9 months ago • 6 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

At the moment, there is no way to check the consumer filters, like: amqp:application-properties-filter, amqp:properties-filter .. etc

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be helpful to have a way to check it in the UI and/or in command line tools

Describe alternatives you've considered

Hi @michaelklishin @Gsantomaggio @ansd , I wonder if anyone have been actively working on this issue? If not, I am willing to take it. :)

@JimmyWang6 you are welcome to do it but I'm not aware of any decision as to where these filters should be displayed or how. Our team would appreciate it.

Maybe @Gsantomaggio or @ansd have something in mind.

@JimmyWang6 No, nobody has been working on this. Please go ahead.

@michaelklishin we decided in our internal chat that it would be great to show the filters in the Management UI. As to how: Similarly as current link infos (e.g. source address, source queue) are shown in the management UI. For reference, I added link details to the Management UI for RabbitMQ 4.1 in https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/pull/12670 Only effective filters should be shown in the Management UI.

I implemented this enhancement in https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/pull/14147 which will ship in RabbitMQ 4.2.
