[feature request] ignore first X number of rings

Open n5ke opened this issue 9 years ago • 2 comments

Thanks for making this great program Free.

As I have multiple devices connected for the same SIP account, I would find the capability of ignoring the first X number of rings or seconds on incoming calls useful, as it would allow to receive them on my mobile phone only if someone doesn't answer from the other devices, without having to use call forwarding (which imposes extra charges). Not sure how easy it is to implement but I think it would be a nice feature.

You can easily do this is you build and use your own asterisk server. It will give you all the flexibility you want and then some more but it does require a bit of technical knowledge.

Unfortunately development of csipsimple seems to be stalled, hopefully not completely dead.

I know that, however, it also requires an always-on system on a reliable connection. It also introduces extra latency (between the upstream SIP trunk and the PBX and then between the PBX and the client).

That's why I was hoping to find this functionality in some client. Sorry to hear csipsimple development is stalled, thanks for your reply!
