Ah! Indeed both `format()` and `parse()` support mixing named and positional values.

Looks like the allowed chars list for names needs to be expanded, perhaps to allow everything *except* the colon or closing brace char.

I apologise for the delay in answering this issue. I think you're missing a key aspect of the custom types: that you should provide a regular expression pattern to tell...

Just a note: this is not related to the --privileged flag; using it does not resolve this error.
