Is this likely to be part of the CRAN release?

It is not a super common situation, but I can take a look at this before the release.

That would be great, if you could do that. I know there's at least one person using checkpoint with a local repo (and it's currently causing errors because of all the hacks checkpoint has to go through to deal with install.packages).
