السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته My brother, the problem is not only an infringement of rights, but the problem is much more than that. The problem lies in placing advertisements that appear when browsing the Book of God, and this is something reprehensible, especially if you are in the mosque, and it is not possible to remain silent about it. Therefore, I hope all the brothers will confront such behavior. If he wants to profit from the application, there are several other ways.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته They update the app like the same last update of quran for android app, and still add more ads.
What is the character of a Muslim that you have? Maybe he is disabled and wants to earn money through the Quran. Maybe he needs money. This Qur'an is for everyone, and if you see someone's sustenance, one day it will happen to you.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته @ar100ir Thank you brother, I hope you understand what I mean, the problem is not in making money, but in how you make money. The biggest problem is placing ads on religious apps. These ads are accompanied by music and other things. Would a Muslim be satisfied to open an application for the Qur’an for recitation or listening at home or in the mosque, and suddenly disturbing advertisements appear to him containing music and other things? وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله
Peace and blessings of God be upon you. Indeed, Allah is Merciful and Compassionate. My suggestion is to email the developer and let him know about his annoying ads in his app I fully understand what you mean. May he apply this in his future updates.
@nacer80 @ar100ir there is a way to control which type of ads appear in your app, for AdMob you can stop music, sexual content and other haram ads here.
The problem will arise if a user saw haram promoting ads in a Quran app we have a hand in, then we shall be sure the uploader did not put these controls and as Muslims, we have to stop this.
In the app listing, I do not see any link to the code (so yes, violates the license)
Way forward
- The app has more than a million users, which means swadakal jariya to all contributors here (you still benefit) but if there are alcohol ads we have to contact the developer(Email,LinkedIn) to do something about it else we may do actions like for example give it a low rating, flag inappropriate or even sue, but keep in mind after the app goes down you the suer has deprived 1M+ Muslims from reading the Quran.
@ahmedre what do you think?
