Show/Add play/pause/stop buttons in/above taskbar if smth playing (Cinnamon/GTK)
The proposed change
Show/Add play/pause/stop buttons in/above/near taskbar when cursor is pointed over quodlibet icon in taskbar and smth is playing in quodlibet (for Cinnamon/GTK).
Benefits of this change
This is implemented in Winamp on Windows and is a very useful and convenient for everybody (at least if compatible with their DE). One can pause/continue music quickly w/o the need to open quodlibet window and spend several seconds looking to corresponding buttons every time.
This feature will make Quodlibet more popular due to increased convenience comparing to other players.
Cinnamon is one of the most popular DE on Linux (especially among former Win users). GNOME at least should be also compatible out of box.
Any issues this might cause
Might be Cinnamon specific, not sure. Nothing else I can think of.
Yes, a modern Gnome integration would be good.
Meanwhile, have you tried the Tray Icon plugin? If you then use https://github.com/ubuntu/gnome-shell-extension-appindicator or similar, you can get a working integration (on my Gnome at least)

Thank you. I enabled "Tray Icon" plugin, but the icon doesn't show up in Cinnamon (X11). Also restarted Cinnamon. Cannot update to most recent version though due to this Ubuntu build repo bug.
