Doubles rspec duration

Hello! I installed this gem and it works well, but I noticed that it doubles our rspec runs (from 10 minutes to 20 minutes). I experimented with various configurations (removing before_fork/after_fork, using the Null backend) and haven't been able to reclaim the time. Have you experienced this? Any suggestions for things to try?
