Interfacial recombination models

Open dalonsoa opened this issue 6 years ago • 0 comments

As with many solvers, Solcore's PDD only have local recombination models: just electrons and holes in the same location can recombine. This is an important limitation at interfaces, when electrons and holes accumulate at different sides of the interface, or in quantum wells with type-II band alignment where, again, recombination takes place between electrons and holes in different regions.

As far as I know, of the common simulation software, only SCAPS includes a more complex recombination model at interfaces.
