Crash with latest optifine

MC 1.16.5 forge 36.0.14 optifine preview_OptiFine_1.16.5_HD_U_G7_pre7.jar

Crash at start, no crashlog provided.

Can confirm, also crashes with G7 preview pre8

You can use optifine G6 sounds like a temporary solution, I'm having some problems with G6 and was hoping G7 would fix them.

Hello, found this thread as I was having the same issue.

You can use optifine G6

This is true, however G6 has other mod compatibilities issues like mekanism. You can only load a pack with mekanism and optifine if you use preview versions otherwise you get a flamethrower crash on load.
