File name is incorrect

I am using Mac OSX. For some reason when the file is uploaded via Django admin, its' name is prefixed with., so instead of example the filename is set to ./example, this results in browser automatically redirecting from example.com/./file.jpeg (correct url) to example.com/file.jpeg, which, of course, results in 404. The only way for me was to get the file name from file itself, but I have hardcoded this into the core files. I have no way to set the file name, since I am using Django admin.
