[Bug] App crashes when attempting to open “deep links”

  • iOS/iPadOS version: iOS 16.0
  • Device model: 13 Pro Max
  • Sideload tool (AltStore, Sideloadly, TrollStore,...): Sideloadly
  • The specific version of uYouPlus (latest or newest is NOT a version number!):18.08.1-2.3~1

Describe the bug

The app will crash whenever an attempt to open a link. This is not an issue with external tools opening the app; I have been able to open the links in the apps for a second before the entire app crashes.

These are the methods I have tried, and all result in a crash: -Opening by holding on a link and clicking the “YouTube” app icon(this one has a slightly different behavior than the others, but I think it is still a crash) -Opening using the “Open in YouTube” shortcut -Opening using the Safari “Open in YouTube”extension

I haven’t used the Opener app, but I highly doubt it would change anything.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Find a YouTube link/page
  2. Use any of the methods listed above
  3. Crash

I am currently “afk” atm, so I won’t be able to use sideloadly (or appdb as my phone basically auto-revokes their signatures) to reinstall or check any major bug fixes.

An update/addendum of sorts:

My original post might’ve not made this clear enough, so I’ll reiterate: I am aware that there are issues with Sideloadly and deep links. However, I think that my app is completely capable of opening these links.

In fact, to further support my claim, I can confirm that videos opened via link do show up in my video history, and they can be opened by clicking on them in history.

So, the app is entirely capable of receiving and (at least partially) processing links, but something is causing it to crash after that point.

I loaded the app using sideloadly, I can confirm that I cannot open links in the app. Also the history doesn't show that I attempted to open it in the app, this isn't a criticism. This is just confirming what you said I don't really open links using the app but just to confirm I have this issue as well.

This could be related to using extensions provided by Sideloadly when sideloading the app, are you using any tweaks/file sharing etc.? See also #748
