Create your design of Parameterized Quantum Circuits

Open Siheon-Park opened this issue 4 years ago • 11 comments

Abstract

The good ansatz generation is crucial for any quantum variational algorithm like QAOA and VQE in the NISQ era. Sim at el analyzed various forms of Parameterized Quantum Circuits(PQC) from past studies by introducing the concept of Expressibility and entangling capacity. Create your unique PQC and compare it with benchmark circuits in the paper.

Description

Your PQC should have high expressibility and entanglement capacity with low circuit cost(circuit depth, number of two-qubit gates, number of parameters, etc.) Create your PQC and function or class to measure Expressibility and Entanglement Capacity with qiskit API. If possible, utilize the qiskit-aqua library to test your PQC with any well-known VQA. You may introduce another method to score PQC for the Quantum Hybrid variational algorithm and use it to prove that your circuit performs better, as long as your method efficiently describes the ability of PQC to achieve an arbitrary target state, or is closely related to entanglement measurements, etc. @0sophy1 provided more intuitive material on medium! To Do list

  • [ ] Create your design of PQC with good performance and low cost
  • [ ] Evaluate your PQC with a reasonable method
  • [ ] (optional) run VQA
  • [ ] implement with qiskit💻
