The first Save after opening a project can take minutes

Open bkepl opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

What is the bug or the crash?

The first time I save an opened project, it can take several minutes, longer than opening the project. This occurs whether I save immediately after opening or after a few edits. Following saves take a few seconds.

Steps to reproduce the issue

No particular steps need to be taken to reproduce this behavior.

Additional context

This bug appeared somewhere between 3.20 and 3.28. I opened an old project with more than two dozen layers in the oldest version I have installed (3.20) and the first save took a few seconds. I opened the same project in the next version I have installed and the first save took between three and four minutes. I reopened the project in 3.20 and as before, the first save was a few seconds. Thinking this may have been caused by a plugin, created a profile with no plugins. The aforementioned behaviors were unchanged.

Shortly after my tests I installed the 3.32 release candidate. As with nearly all releases, general behavior of the program seemed smoother, but the issue of the long first-time save persists. It may be a little faster, but the difference is negligible.
