Issues installing via Github & PPA
Followed instructions from your repo & nooblabs site with no success.
I highly admire what you are doing. The only thing that is keeping me from leaving OSX is Alfred . Open source is amazing =), but there are still a few OSX proprietary apps that can't just be easily replaced.
Me too. After installation, neither command line nor dash found mutate
.
I had a similar problem - did you installation succeed? It might say, it's installed, but actually there was a compile error during the installation. Try running locate mutate
if you find any executable. For me, the g++ compiler was missing. I've installed the build-essentials and it worked.
I recently opened a new Issue with a similar problem.
Under Linux Mint 'Rafaela' Cinnamon edition I added the ppa and installed first through CLI then through software manager. Both times config files, icon files, scripts, etc... are installed... even a .desktop file is created, but no executable is to be found. @pgrm , did you install through ppa or compiled it yourself ?
thank you
Through ppa, but as another issue states, it isn't really installed, it's still compiled, which means that you still need the build tools.
@pgrm did you mean that it is still NOT compiled? so I should install build tools, and are there instructions to follow after that or could you be so kind to provide them? thank you very much
You need to have the build essentials installed. Afterwards you install Mutate simply via ppa. It will be compiled on your machine and everything should work. You don't need to do anything afterwards.

@pgrm Installing build-essential before installing Mutate through the PPA solves the problem. This seems to be because the package compiles Mutate on install. There is a related issue open which refers to this as not the right way a debian package should work.
Thank you!
I think this issue should be closed.
