Please provide the following information
qBittorrent version and Operating System
v4.3.0alpha1 (1c8707399090666efdf017f2ece87a5c53088669) Windows 10 Home 2004 fully updated
What is the problem
When waking up from the tray (hidden state) after a long time without opening (like a couple of hours) the UI is white and I have to press couple times on the tray icon so it shows the UI.

To load the UI immediately.
Steps to reproduce
Leave the client closed (hidden in the tray) for a couple of hours and open it.

@spirulin can you reproduce with default settings? Or otherwise just trying the workaround mentioned in https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/10419#issuecomment-684066727?
This is a very very old problem for me.
Windows 10/64 Pro.
(don't get me wrong, but some very very very old issues still remain unsolved)

No matter of the settings. It does the same. And looks like it's not only me. I guess will have to use it this way until it's finally fixed or if it gets fixed. Have no idea what more info I can provide to help you resolve it. If you need something I am ready to help. :)
@eurobank @spirulin
Well, sadly, so far no other team member or contributor has been able to reproduce this. This could even be a Qt bug, or something related to a specific component of a setup. It's very hard to know for sure, one has to guess by pure luck without more information.

Well, right now I can't think of anything that isn't super high-effort, like trying to debug this with Visual Studio, but right now I can't really guide you through the process if you don't already know how to do it, or are willing to learn on your own.
What graphics cards are you using? Maybe this issue could be related to a specific manufacturer. Do you see any relevant message in the Windows Event Log that coincides with when you maximize to the blank screen?
I'm using build in Intel UHD 630.
I have the same problem for a long time. I use Mac Mini 2012 running Windows 10 x64. Video card is Intel HD 4000 Could it be that it's just too slow for Qbittorrent?
I managed to reproduce this issue. After a torrent finished downloading and download completion notification popped up, I clicked on the qBt icon from tray, the UI became unresponsive. Additional info: It was a multi-file torrent and was partially downloaded.
In my experience, the factors that contribute most to the "white screen" issue are:
- the primary view being set to a "Status" containing a lot of "Downloading" and/or "Seeding" torrents (say, 50 "Active" torrents or more)
- qBittorrent being left open for more than 6 hours
If I change my view to a "Status" which contains no torrents (or very very few, as in < 5), then minimize qBittorrent or leave it alone, then I don't have any problems for literally hours/days.
However, if I change back to a "Status" view containing a lot of "Downloading" and/or "Seeding" torrents, then I can expect the "white screen" problem to manifest within a couple of hours.
When I encounter the "white screen" issue, qBittorrent will show a memory usage of greater than 50MB in Task Manager (Windows 10 x64 Home). I don't know if that is relevant at all, but just another observation.
Will this fucking issue ever be fixed?!
While I did a search and didn't find this one, it's likely because I was only searching for v4.3.5 since this didn't happen on any previous version, and I don't use alphas or betas. I've also used qBit for many years, so every prior version has not had this issue for me. Additionally, I'm on Win10 v20H2, and this person is on 20H1, but that's unlikely to matter much.
Qbitt has about 50 seeds in upload, and I use the RSS automatic download function, you can see the network bandwidth 0.1m in the task manager, QBITT is automatically downloaded .When I re-opened the QbitT process, there is no response for a long time, and again click Qbitt from the task bar, it is also no response, no UI displayed on the screen.
@cool-delete That is the Enhanced Edition
(fork) - not the official qBittorrent version.
There's still ~2 other causes haven't been fully fixed yet/WIP.
Also weighing in, currently on 4.4.3.1 and I have the just experienced the white screen once again after trying to load Qbittorrent from the Windows notification area. The WebUI loads fine, torrents are still transferring, this seems to be a longstanding GUI issue.
I've found that right clicking on the taskbar icon and selecting "Show" actually brings up the UI. Hopefully that helps narrow it down. After doing this, double clicking on the Qbittorrent icon continues to launch the GUI as expected.
Same problem on Windows 11 Pro 22H2 build 22621.900, clicking the icon from systray restores the program to a white window.

With what qBittorrent version? The Windows version isn't going to matter with this issue.
I am using qBittorent 4.5 x64(lt12, qt5) on Windows 11 qBittorrent is set to start in a minimized state when Windows starts.
In my case, the first time I call qbittorrent using only the keyboard, I see a white UI. (Win+B, arrow, Enter) After the second or using mouse clicks, there is no such problem.
The Windows version isn't going to matter with this issue.
In fact, I noticed some strange problems on Windows 11 (previously not happening for me on Windows 10). For example, when minimizing to the Tray several times, the translucent shadow of the window remained on the desktop.
Anyway you could try Qt6 based build.
Never seen any other UI issues, my laptop is running Windows 10, I've seen this issue for about two years like OP. I was going to hold off 4.5 until 4.5.1 came out, but I might upgrade to the Qt6 version of 4.5 just to check out if this is a now resolved Qt bug.

So is it reproducible each time you do the following?

qBittorrent v4.5.0 (64-bit) / Qt 5.15.7
LOL this didn't take long to reproduce. Upgraded to Qt5 4.5.0 lt 2.0 last night (was meant to download Qt6 oop), first launch of GUI after installing today.. white screen. Minimized it in white screen mode, clicked on the icon in the system tray to mazimize and it loaded fine.
Interesting , there's always a full white screen every time Qbittorrent loads the GUI and the whole thing shows at once, where as uTorrent loads various elements from the bottom up.

Nope. I always double click on the minimized icon in the system tray, it starts minimized. Once I've got the UI to show it it's normally good for awhile.
I've now installed the Qt6 version to test. - but I've gone back to Qt5. The name fields weren't at their original set width when I launched it and that issue I posted about the column alignments hasn't been addressed yet either (issues/15973) I have the Ratio column's title text left aligned and the field text right aligned. I had infohash columns and incomplete savepath showing as well which I hadn't selected before, not sure if that changed with 4.5 or if the Qt 6 version just decided to show those but I'd suggest not adding new columns by default?

this didn't take long to reproduce.
Can't reproduce it myself. So it looks like there are some other non-obvious aspects that affect this.
Minimized it in white screen mode, clicked on the icon in the system tray to mazimize and it loaded fine.
Yes, this hack always works for me too.
Is this fixed in Qt6.6.1 ?
@Ryrynz Does qBittorrent 4.6.2 exhibit this issue?
@xavier2k6 I haven't seen this issue for some time now, safe to close I think.
