Looking at rgthree's commits they reference a change to Comfyui's backend that messes with how the preview information is served.

I've rewritten this functionality so hopefully it shouldn't break so often in future (and hopefully is now working!)

I've changed the submenu to be a nested tree in the same menu so filtering works on these lists now if you have submenu enabled. Also added an additional display mode (Settings -> pysssss -> Combo++ -> Lora/Checkpoint loader display mode) for a grid thumbnail mode.

sadly , it still shows no preview image of models. and I found that pysssss loader even became like this.(but other loader shows name correctly , but no preview) im using the comfyui 0.3.26 .

If i change my comfyui back to 0.3.14, everything works fine.

and the dropdown was only showing the models in the base directory ( I have most of mine in external directories)

I also check here and originally the field was empty by default

when trying the other modes list and thumbnails seem to work but tree still doesn't show the folders that my models are stored in

I have updated pysssss, comfyui and everything else because i thought it was fixed but sadly it's not. The tree view gives the [Object object] view and the List as well as the Grid view do not bring back the preview images for me.

If you want to use the newest version of ComfyUI but still have the preview images you can use the old frontend side which still has working preview images. Just attach " --front-end-version Comfy-Org/[email protected]" to the starting parameter of your comfyui start script.

I hope this will be resolved soon too, i miss my preview images 😂 But i know pythongosssss is giving his best and is providing us with all of this for free, to which i'm eternally grateful 🫡🫶

weird, i am able to go down in the frontend version to 1.8.14 even with ComfyUI version 0.3.26.

But sadly the trick doesn't work anymore nontheless because of the new implementation of the way the preview images are being loaded. Last comfyui version i can confirm it working with was the 0.3.18, but since i've upgraded yesterday to 0.3.26 i'll also have to work without preview images for now. 🥲

I'm using 3.30.2 I added the " --front-end-version Comfy-Org/[email protected]" parameter and now the image preview is working for me! thx💕

I've fixed a couple of issues (a crash with subfolders, and fixing old widget values), I'm not fully convinced this will fix all the problems people are having.

I've tested using the latest frontend 1.13.6, and can't recreate any issues in Firefox/Edge/Chrome on Windows:

I'm not sure if there is some incompatibility with other custom nodes but if there are still issues can you please ensure you have the latest version of ComfyUI frontend (1.13.6) & custom scripts (check the Combo++ display mode setting name, it should be exactly 🐍 Lora & Checkpoint loader display mode NOT with a / in it)

running a new comfyui installation without any custom nodes apart from CustomScripts restores the preview function on comfyui 0.3.26 and frontend 1.12.14 and up. (Tested on 1.12.14 and 1.13.6 as 1.12.14 was the default frontend version a fresh installation started with).

In my current setup with everything updated the previews sadly still do not work, but that may be interference with another custom node, sadly the console output isn't really helpful as it doesn't throw any errors or warnings that'd hint to the issue.

Guess i'll have to disable each custom node now and see which one is causing the problems 🫡

Edit: The one causing the issue was the EasyUse Node from yolain (who opened the pull request in the comfyui repo). The EasyUse Node is also the one responsible for the [Object object] error in the tree view. I don't know if this issue will be fixed soon in the EasyUse custom node but you don't have to disable the whole node entirely. It's enough to go into the settings and turn off the model preview thumbnails and the automatic nesting of subdirectories as seen here:

This will let you use both custom nodes while keeping your preview images with the new patch from @pythongosssss :)

Hello pythongosssss, first of all, thank you so much for your work. I just discovered another conflict. When the RGThree nodes are set to Auto Nest Subdirectories in the menus, the same problem occurs: thumbnails aren't displayed, and the subdirectories aren't displayed correctly.

This needs to be disabled for now:

Just to add here, newest version of comfy, disabled auto-nest in rgthree otherwise it breaks custom's previews.

Easy-use settings do not seem to interfere, so the auto-nesting from that still works (for nodes other than custom scripts' - but you also lose the fancy new trees).

Love your nodes and the new tree-selection is great!

I am having a lot of trouble understanding the behavior of the lora previews. Upon loading Comfyui, the initial inquiry into my loras menu display the tree organization and previews, upon second inquiry it switches over to list with no previews.

In addition refreshing with F5 will allow me to see the previews one more time. However after disabling all other nodes in the extension menu, and only leaving the combo++, refreshing with F5 no longer works.

My current working theory is that there is some dependency or interaction that gets overwritten after the first inquiry into the lora menu.

Thanksssssssssssss. This issue had been troubling me for a whole month, and it's finally resolved. Although the List Mode doesn't support subfolder hierarchy, the Tree Mode works perfectly, and that's more than enough.
