Uninstall pyRevit (PATH is not updated)

Open dosymep opened this issue 2 years ago • 10 comments

After uninstalling pyRevit env variable PATH is not updated. Not deleted: "C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\pyRevit-Master\bin"

If you reinstall pyRevit many times, the environment variable gets littered with the same values and stops working.

Apparently this is by design.

Never had an issue with it.

You need to install it many times pyRevit :)

The question is: How many? Just Kiddin' I have installed pyRevit maybe 50+ times and never hit that wall. I looked at the count of path in the ENVVAR with pyrevit and you are right, it stacks. I got 20/30. It may not happen when you deploy with CLI I guess. I deleted all pyrevit path from envvar and reinstalled uninstalled to ckeck if consistent. It is. :( I guess you will have to propose a fix @dosymep ;p

@jmcouffin, not very good behavior anyway The fix is at the link in the installer's comment.

Dorry @dosymep , I'm working with @jmcouffin to make the stale bot message clearer, so that there won't be any more surprises...

I found another stack overflow answer on the subject, would you care to try it and make a PR?
