Reasons for the request

I would like to use the name gadzooks for a new project (Python script to be used in conjunction with pre-commit hooks).

The name appears to be available on PyPI, but when I upload the code I get: Client error '400 The name 'gadzooks' isn't allowed. See https://pypi.org/help/#project-name for more information. But it gives no explanation as to whether this is from a similar name or some other restriction.

Maintenance or replacement?

None

As a placeholder I'm currently using py-gadzooks. But ideally I'd like to switch to the simpler name.
