Back when we created this repo, https://github.com/python/peps was still in Mercurial, and not hooked up to python-dev's Reitveld instance, so there was no easy way to do line-by-line reviews of proposals.

Now, though, having two repos is just a potential source for confusion.

Perhaps the README should be updated with the history of why the repo existed at all, and why we decided we no longer needed it, and then the whole thing made read-only using the GitHub archive feature?

Moreover: now many PEPs are getting migrated to PyPUG.
