[Question] Is there a timeline or roadmap for PyMC4?
I remember seeing a roadmap for PyMC3 -> PyMC4 a year or two back but I'm wondering if something similar exists for PyMC4? Apologies if this is out of scope. If so, please close the issue.
@jolespin PyMC4 has been under active development, though because some of the core pieces have been delegated to TFP, there’s some quality-of-life improvements we want (well, I guess I can only really speak for myself ) from the TFP devs, including a progress bar for the samplers, before I finally switch over and redo my teaching materials in pm4. That, and some of the No-U-Turn-Sampler quality-of-life improvements implemented in PyMC3, such as automatic tuning via mass matrix adaptation. (Details are best left to ask those who implemented it, I only know it makes the @twiecki InferenceButton a reality .)
We have both of those coming "real soon now" (progress bars and linear preconditioning), i.e. both are WIP currently.
