2450 Sensor Status Polling

Does pyinsteon currently utilize the 0x19 0x01 get Sensor Status on the 2450 or is it totally relying on the group messaging ... how is this status handled if HA reboots (last known value or does it get the current Sensor status?) ... ultimately I would like to have HA continually poll this sensor every 5 minutes to ensure no COS messages are missed ... plus expose a button on the dashboard to get the realtime status.
