I am also struggling to install pycairo via PIP required for beeware Python 3.11.3

The error indicates that your cairo install advertises that it has xcb support and defines CAIRO_HAS_XCB_SURFACE but does not provide the xcb headers.

This is an error in the cairo packaging, and should be reported to your distro.

If anyone has any info on which distro this affects we can try to have a look.
