When a new update is released the application crashes - Linux

Running off of the appimage on Arch Linux as soon as there is a new release the application crashes on startup with the "Update Notification" dialogue. Disabling the function to check for updates in preferences does not cause this behaviour to stop, it merely prevents the update dialogue from popping up before crashing.

Running the application from the command line does not produce any error dialogues.
