Cloud DNS Search/Find Records Using Type of 'ANY'

Open StevenElling opened this issue 11 years ago • 2 comments

It is common (at least for me) to perform a DNS lookup using a type of 'ANY' (i.e. dig rackspace.com ANY or dig www.rackspace.com ANY) to determine whether any DNS records exist (e.g. I don't care what they are I just want to know whether they exist or not) and/or retrieve all at once.

It would be nice if the various search and find function in Pyrax can use a type of 'ANY', however, this issue would have to be passed upstream as the Rackspace Cloud DNS API doesn't allow searching using a type of 'ANY'.

Do you mean to search if any records are defined anywhere in the entire DNS system, or only within Rackspace's DNS service?

Only within the Rackspace Cloud DNS.
