This driver was just my salvation on tl-wn821n v4, but now its outdated and stopped working on updated distributions. p.s. after so many years, linux developers still can't get it properly work - what a shame :(

First of all, I heavily recommend that you report your issues with the mainline kernel driver (rtl8xxxu) to the kernel maintainers. The driver in this repo is not meant to be a long-term solution.

Secondly, I was not aware that this driver no longer compiled on "updated distributions". I just updated the Travis configuration, to make sure, and if nothing else it does compile fine on kernels up to 5.3. What's your issue?
