VMware clipboard integration non-functional

Using qlipper with Lubuntu 20.04 and VMWare player 16, I was unable to get any cross pollination between the Lubuntu guest qlipboard and the host. Turned off qlipper in the lxde settings and restarted and now I'm able to move the clipboard contents between guest and host. I hate to lose the history in qlipper but I need it to work between windows host and the guest os.
