Autofill resubmissions with the previous submission's work
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We have milestone targets where submissions are often creative writing samples. With these creative writing samples, students often need to only make small tweaks to their earlier work for it to be accepted.
Currently they have to go back to their previous submission and copy/paste all their work into another submission. Then, they make their small modifications.
Describe the solution you'd like
When a student goes to resubmit their work, all their answers from their previous submission are populated automatically. In this way, they can just make their small tweaks and be good to go.
Describe alternatives you've considered None that I can think of.
I could see this either being a default for all milestone targets or a configuration in the settings on a target.
Additional context None.
I can start working on this feature on the next week
Just noting here that this feels like a very course-implementation-specific requirement. There might be a way to fulfil this need that doesn't make the interaction quite so simple for the end-user, but is both good enough and more broadly applicable.
@harigopal hmm you might be right.
Do you have an example you can think of where the student would not benefit from having their last submission present for them to edit and make adjustments to before resubmitting?
I can't think of one off the top of my head.
Oh! I think I misunderstood this issue - I was thinking along the lines of submissions in successive levels, when you were talking about resubmissions. 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah, this makes total sense.
