Not exactly what you're looking for, but you might be interested in https://github.com/pulumi/pulumitv/tree/master/modern-infrastructure-wednesday/2020-05-20/graphql-api as an example of doing something similar and potential launching point. If you do build it, would be happy to accept a PR for your example!
