Need new maintainer

Open FFY00 opened this issue 5 years ago • 8 comments

Hey, we need some new maintainer(s). I haven't touched the project in a while and I am not that motivated to fix bugs. I will still help out and review patches but we need new people if we want to move anything forward.

@ljmf00 @Ev1lbl0w @iK4tsu @BGameiro2000 @cpcmc anyone wants to help out?

Thanks for the opportunity, but I have very little experience on this particular field, so I doubt I could fix issues or implement new features. I'm sure there are other more experienced people already.

I can try to do something with the app. I have limited time, so my commits can be rare. I'll fork the repo and do some initial code cleaning.

That would be great.

Hi, I make a Fork of this project and add some new features like import and export presets, change the interface to disable header bar controls, and user menu & toolbars instead.

I can contribute to maintaining this code or the new code.

Let me know any tasks that need attention, bugs or anything I can help.

@larmedina75 feel free to submit PRs, I will try to have a look.

This equalizer, along with pink noise and Spectroid, is very useful for calibrating speakers for a flat frequency response.

If you add me as a maintainer I would be able to approve any pull request in a daily basis.

I'm experienced in Bash programming, and I have notions of audio engineering.

I suspect that there is a couple of changes to the project that will benefit it too, and that I could perform.

First making any new approved pull request a release, or rather removing releases all together. Since the program compiles almost instantly, I think it makes sense.

Second, not having presets for specific speakers. There's no such thing as an optimal profile for a specific model. As calibration greatly depends on how the speakers are placed, and how the room is.

Even better: make @larmedina75 the maintainer, as he is constantly working on this project.

Nevertheless larmedina75's fork isn't working for me right now. Toggling the switch does nothing for me.

@FFY00 @larmedina75 Let me know your decision before a week. Otherwise I will make my own fork for at least allowing people to make pull requests.
