Wrong unread email count

I'm using mailnag to check on 3 gmail acounts and I'm getting the wrong unread email count. It's higher than the real unread email count.

Is this a bug?

Honestly I have no idea since I'm not using gmail. Is it possible that you're suffering from this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/popper/+bug/654623 ?

Disregard my previous deleted comment.

I believe I've figured out what's happening. In gmail 2 unread messages in the same thread is counted as 1 unread message/thread

Mailnag seems to not take into account this gmail functionality and counts it as 2 unread messages.
