Preview link not working well on multisite and not published custom statuses

Open andergmartins opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

When an edit is made to a Page that is already Published (Published Status) and the "Preview Changes" button is clicked the Preview Changes button renders the link as follows: https://www.example.com/kitchensink/facilities-and-resources/?preview_id=7&preview_nonce=4378b8f42b&preview=true The changes do not appear. It seems that Preview Changes (which is default to WordPress) is overrided/disabled When the same page starts in Draft Status (not published) and an edit made and then the "Preview" button is clicked the preview URL renders is https://www.example.com/kitchensink?page_id=7&preview_id=7&preview_nonce=4378b8f42b This preview view is not readable for the author, however the Permalink sent by Publish Press Notifications is as follows: https://www.example.com/kitchensink?page_id=7&preview_id=7 This link does not have the trailing slash. When adding back the trailing slash the page is readable for the site Administrator, but not the Author https://www.example.com/kitchensink/?page_id=7&preview_id=7 This is the same when saving in the Pending Review Status. The Administrator can view the PublishPress link sent in Notifications by adding the trailing slash. The Author cannot view at all.

Two issues here... when there is any path in the URL, like a subsite folder, there is a missing trailing slash, before the GET vars, when not published.

The other issue is that any change can't be previewed until saved.

It seems to be related to a 3rd party plugin which extends the pages form, and do not use native fields to collect the page data.
