Advanced tagging menu not working

The advanced tagging menu is not working as expected. Clicking on the menu items should add the respective tags to the research note but no tag is getting added.

Great catch! We should fix and add a system test. This code predates system tests so we couldn't write tests for JavaScript/Ruby integrations. But now we can!

I can report back that using the menu to Add a Coauthor is working correctly for me. I was using an "Admin" level account.
