Extracting band from multiband image

Can I use this plugin to extract a band from a multiband image? But the image is in a proprietary NASA PDS format with .IMG extension; I know its structure, but I don't know how to extract the bands. Its a Band Sequential (BSQ) format.

Data from image can be extracted using this link, but it is very slow.
