Scaling relative to corner

Open adriankwiat opened this issue 5 years ago • 7 comments

Please note we are preparing to participate in Google Code-in, and have reserved this issue for GCI participants - but we'd love to have your help with another one! Please check out https://code.publiclab.org to see more.

Problem

issue opened by a user

Please describe the desired behavior. Describe the solution you'd like.

Image should be scaling relative to corner, not center, just like in Google Earth.

Additional context (optional) Feel free to include any applicable: code, screenshots, or gifs.

In Google Earth: 3

Solution

Ideally, the user would be able to specify sometime during initialization what type of scaling they want: centroid / corner, OR in the UI have some way of toggling this. If you struggle with this part, it is okay to just add this capability as a completely separate tool

Cool! This would be a constructor option on the tool itself, i guess? Maybe "centroid" or "origin"?

Sure @sashadev-sky! @jywarren I guess we might want to re-consider if we really need two different origin options? Can we think of a few test cases where one would be better than the other?

@jywarren @rexagod I don't think it's a need but I do think it improves usability!
