I am using an rpi3b+, on a 32 bit operating system, steam successfully installed, and technically works, however when I started a game download, it crashes with the above errors, it does repeatedly, and I have to start steam in offline mode so it can even open. Also, for some reason the flags used to keep steam from using too much memory like no browser and minigameslist don't work, it still is using 600mb of ram on my 1gb ram pi, is there any solution to any of this?

Sorry, but not miracle solution here. You can try to use a small swap, but iif steam already take al the memory, there will be noting left for a game also. 1Gb RAM is really not a lot for current system.

Ah I see, I was at least hoping to get the download to finish, because as of now, I can't even get steam to open without crashing, as it resumes the download automatically and I can't stop the download anymore

You can try to run without Dynarec, with BOX86_DYNAREC=0. It will use less memory but will be much slower.

How would I put that into a commandline argument? (I apologize I am not as familiar with how to launch programs with arguments in the linux terminal)

like BOX86_DYNAREC=0 steam from a terminal?
