Bizhawk waterbox cores don't open on winlator.

Open InfamousKnight opened this issue 6 months ago • 6 comments

Using https://github.com/brunodev85/winlator

And using bizhawk 2.9.1 as that's the most stable.

Logs aren't really showing anything of use.. at best some "fixme" messages from wine...

Using wine 10

Waterbox cores are ds, ps1, Saturn, among others. Just for tool assisted speedrunning.

https://github.com/TASEmulators/BizHawk/tree/master/waterbox that's the source for waterbox.

Been trying to get this fixed for a while now..

I have no idea what this ticket is talking about. Please provide exact steps to reproduce.

To reproduce the crash, you first need wine mono to open bizhawk.

Then open emuhawk.exe

File - open rom - ds rom like need for speed undercover ds

Crash occurs.

And use turnip driver and wineD3D

Bizhawk README:

If you try to use Wine anyway then you're on your own.

Better be sure this works on x86_64 Linux with Wine first.

It does. I tried it on my laptop.. that's now without an operating system...

Okay, I have reproduction, but it seems to be a weird crash inside mono, not sure about the reason yet.

Small update over here: using latest winlator frost and latest box64 version as of writing this: same result.. and nothing of use under logs. I'm using trace instead of minimal as I believe that would give out the most info..

Any progress on your end?

For micewine, should I open a new issue for that?

It doesn't open at all with that. And I suspect environment variables are missing. No clue what's required for that though..
