Inital removal of admin rights do not work

Open msconfig87 opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Expected behavior:

  • install MakeMeAdmin msi
  • wait 10 minutes OR log off if setting "Remove Admin Rights On Logout" is set
  • admin rights are removed

observed behavior:

  • admin rights still present after 10 minutes
  • admin rights also present after logout even if setting "Remove Admin Rights On Logout" is set

current steps needed to get it working:

  • initial click on button "Remove my Administrator rights" is a required step
  • after this MakeMeAdmin works as expected

environment details:

  • Windows 10 Version 21H1
  • not domain joined (no GPOs)
  • Azure AD joined
  • MakeMeAdmin version 2.3

I don't see anywhere where you installed the software and then added someone to the Administrators group. It seems like you're expecting Make Me Admin to remove the rights of the account that installed it. It does not do that.
