Query window contents removed and undo disabled on CMD+R+Dn Arrow
OK, I know this seems weird but it's been burning me for a good while and I finally was able to reproduce the steps:
PSequel v1.5.1
- Open a new connection
- Have other text in the window (such as other very helpful, well thought out queries you've been working on for an hour.
- Highlight the select * from users line
- Press relatively quickly:
Command + R + Down Arrow
(I'm not sure the speed on this, or if it's just something with the 3 keys.)
The query you selected to run does run, and you now have a window without all of the other text and undo capabilities are disabled. (So, you can't CMD+Z to get back to where you where).
This appears to be the same as pressing CMD+]
or CMD+[
(which also tend to disable undo)
NOTE: This only happens on a new connection. Once it has happened in a connection, you can't repeat the steps and get the same result.
Hmm..I tried a couple times but wasn't able to reproduce what you described. I tried on both a newly created connection and one that was created long long ago.
I am just switching to a new computer and was able to duplicate the issue with 1.5.2
I was able to do it over and over.
CMD+R+Dn Arrow at the same time
Did you change the system-wide default keyboard shortcuts?
No system-side default keyboard shortcuts were changed.
Lost significant work in the last couple of days due to this issue. 😕
I have a similar issue when pressing CMD+]
or CMD+[
expecting it to indent a line of text. Then I lose all my work as I'm unable to undo.
I too use CMD+R
to run a query in line. As I may have multiple queries in the editor window while building complex queries.
I hate to plug another app, but about 10-12 months ago I switched to TablePlus and been very happy. I’ve never lost work as their is a constant history of commands executed.
