How about looking at uFlex as a replacement? See http://ptejada.com/projects/uFlex and https://github.com/ptejada/uFlex

@Stuart1066 - uFlex is only authentication, from what I can tell. Gatekeeper also covers authorization.

Hmm, given that this is an update that might need to be applied to already existing installs I'd rather see it as a new migration that alters those columns if you please.

@enygma Generally I would agree, but I assume the people already using GK actively are okay with the original limit, and this might actually break things for them. I think this is a change that should only go to new installations.
