Copy to memory card process aborts when encountering a long folder name

Open gingerbeardman opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

When the copy process encounters a long folder name that it has to truncate, the copy process fails to copy any files after that.

examples:

  • SLPM_860.80.Jun Classic C.C. & Rope Club
  • SLUS_009.57.Metal Gear Solid - VR Missions

I am not entirely sure what you experienced. But I think what happened is that you tried to copy a directory with files to a memory card. This directory has a really long filename (> 32 characters). MCMAN (not LaunchELF) truncates the filename, but LaunchELF has no idea that happened. As a result, copying the files to the directory will fail. However, you should still be able to issue new commands to copy more files after that.

If this was what happened, then it is a missing feature: LaunchELF does not truncate filenames.

I'll try to reproduce
