Describe the issue
after connecting my PS2 to the network and launching OPL's HDL server. hdl_dump is unable to connect. always gives the error: 0000006f (111): Connection refused
Console model
SPCH-39001
the HDL Server is abandoned since ages ago...
look for HDLGameInstaller
@israpps but the latest hdl_dumb can only connect to hdl_svr_093. Any chance you can make a PR to this repo adding NBD support?
You don't need hdl_dumb to connect with nbd, since you just need to use local disk, and use a nbd-client to create a virtual local disk.
Sure, but if you only want to install games, using hdl_dumb (which is distributed in this repo) is much simpler, there's no need for other 3rd party programs or creating virtual disks. It has a very clean and easy interface. israpps already added support for NBD to HDL Batch Installer, that's why I asked if he could add it to hdl_dump/hdl_dumb.

HDL batch installer*
ok ...
I use HDLDump all the time THE OLD ONE it works perfect HDLDump (yes in 2023) is the only thing that will work on my 50k 1/n model fat with a SATA adapted OEM modem once I upgraded my phat to a SSD none of the other programs would work. Batch installer static IPs etc etc all would fail. much appciation for any work being done on this
i developed the nbd server on a dhcp lan and SATA adapted OEM ... beside an issue in OPL that doesn't show currently the right IP when started OPL nbd service, i see no issue to run it on your setup. All old software will work with nbd since you emulated a local disc with external nbd client, so hdl-dumb works choosing the local virtual disc, as hdlgi or any other tool you would use on a local disc (pfsshell, parted, ...). And if you choose to run the nbd path, you'll have access to your mc for backup and other stuff with a standard protocol that will be used on other plateform.
