[ISSUE]: MX4SIO, no SD card detected ? (Freeze on load)

Describe the issue
Trying to use an MX4SIO card with 2 differently branded SD Cards, one PNY (64gb) and the other Verbatim (16GB), both end up with the exact same result, which is MX4SIO trying to load games, and the controller not responding to any command, even after removing the mx4sio,
The console doesnt freeze completely it seems, because the loading animation actually has time to fade away.
The games are placed inside a DVD folder i created, none of the ISOs goes over 4gb. I tried reformating the SD cards to FAT32 (MBR) with default, and 16KB cluster sizes using Minitool partition wizard. (note: i'm indeed using the 2nd memory card port, using the first one for mx4sio just disables my controllers in the fmcb menu, and i'm also using an official memory card (tried 2 official memory cards, with the same result).)

EDIT: I managed to get a list of games by using the release OPNPS2LD-v1.1.0-Beta-1629-e20f2ee-bdm3, but then my games launches into a black screen, i'm still troubleshooting other possible issues.
EDIT 2 : I managed to make CoD 3 along with another game to work on the 1.1.0 Beta i talked about earlier, but many games just stop working before showing the PS2 logo. enabling Accurate Reads might fix it in some cases i think ...
EDIT 3: After more testing, i can say that most games i tried on that beta don't boot at all, and end up on a black screen after an orange one.
Firstly, I had the same, Doesn't see the SD card. SCPH-70004 + MagicGate FMCB + Bitfunxx MX4SIO + noBrand micro SD. However, a few days later it could see a part of my games, but I could not start any.

I also downgraded to BDM3 for my MX4SIO. Using OPL Beta 1345 to run games via USB if MX4SIO fails to run it. My SOP so far:
- Checking Compatibility list Ps2 https://www.ps2-home.com/forum/page/opl-game-compatibility-list-1
- Test Rom (USA + EU) on PC
- Transfer to SD card (USA + EU) via Ctrl C V in DVD folder and also using USBUtil for both
- Testing all on via OPL beta 1629 BDM3
- Transfer to USB drive (USA + EU) via Ctrl C V in DVD folder and also using USBUtil for both
Giving up if not working

You seem to have the exact same issue as me, most games i was interested in trying did not boot at all, but 1 out of many actually ended up starting but crashing, which was SAS Anti Terror Force (i wanted to have a laugh with friends lol) it crashes on the Davilex logo. disabling FMV makes the game freeze on load.
So, i tried again on a SCPH-70004, i first tried the BDM3 release, and had the same game compatibility issues, i then upgraded to the latest beta version as of writing, it worked once, successfully booting SAS Anti terror force, which didn't happen before. and after reseting the console, i'm back at the exact same problem of OPL completely freezing.
Note: if you plug a USB stick in, OPL unfreezes, but you cannot access anything from the MX4SIO, unpluging the USB stick just makes OPL freeze again.
Note 2: after further testing it seems that OPL (latest beta) does not freeze if i run it from uLaunchELF on a USB stick, but the MX4SIO is still not detected properly and shows no games.
Are you using original Memory card? Are you using Kingston SD card?

Try an original ps2 dualshock controller, found out that did the trick for some other games
If you get the game list to load once, then stops working after reset, try turning power off the console completely and back on. Reset is sometimes not enough.. confirmed on ps2 fat and slim using 'cheap' mx4sio..
I have a similar problem, my mx4sio doesn't work in betas above 1979, I don't know if the problem is my micro sd card from a brand here in Brazil, multilaser, but as I don't have another brand, I can't say what's really going on. I don't know what to do, I just wanted to try the latest betas using my mx4sio, but it's impossible due to the non-working, I even have a USB SSD but as long as my mx4sio isn't working I can't try the latest betas the way I'd like to and use the new features. Righth now I'm with a slim model of the 90xxx series, specifically a 90004, with matrix chip and funtuna installed, recentelly bought my mx4sio, but I cant' update the OPL and make my mx work in any betas above 1979. What can I do? What can you guys who makes the OPL do to help me?
@Nick5779 in OpL main page there is a link to discord, you can join it and ask there for necessary steps to resolve your problem.
Are you using an original memory card with OPL ?

MX4SIO needs a MagicGate compatible card in SLOT 1 or 2 to work, so it shouldn't work at all with unofficial/unlicensed copies. I have issues even on both of my official sony 8MB cards tho, so i don't think the problem lies there.
I since just abandonned using mx4sio everyone i ever talked to told me it worked basically when it wanted and was never reliable. if you own a slim i suggest you use mechapwn and burn your games instead if you can or just use a modchip or ESR, it's way more reliable that way.
