Checks
- [X] I have checked existing OPL issues for duplicates and found none
- [X] I am using either OPL latest stable version, or archived version or OPL beta version
Describe the issue
I tryed the stable 1.1.0, and when testing the nbd server, it says starting and nothing happens, when I try to connect on linux nothing happens
Console model
SCHPH-39001
OPL version / revision
stable 1.1.0
In which device(s) have you experienced this issue?
HDD
Context and extra information
Freezing when starting nbd server
Did you setup your network in OPL (don't forget to save config) before launch it ?
yes, I did, after freezing starting nbd, I restarted my ps2, the settings still there, I tryed again two more times, without success
i'm not able to reproduce it. i'd be fine to provide a debug version in the artefacts and we explains people how to use it with ps2client. If you want to try it launch from another device, like usb or mc, it would give me more information.
Do you have this problem with DHCP
or Static
IP Address Type
?
Did you try to wait more than ~35 sec to "receive" Failed to start NBD Server.
yes, I tryed both, please see this video with the problem https://youtu.be/HPjfrlLbB9Q I waited about 5 minutes, I made a cut on the video
Maybe the issue is that settings are present on mass and not pfs0? I tried hard but couldn't duplicate that issue.
I also cannot reproduce this issue... Tried the same network config as in a provided video on win 7 and Linux Mint 19.3.
Could you try to delete all settings from every device as Haker120 mentioned and try to save\load them from a MC?
Do not connect other devices.
If you will be able to at least have error Failed to start NBD Server.
Try to config SMB.
Old config on mc can bothered latest OPL. You could try removing them, or launch OPL on another device from uLE or use https://github.com/parrado/SoftDev2 to boot directly on OPL.
@hardlevel can you additionally try to unplugged ETH cable from your PS2.
Then start NBD Server.
You should at least get Failed to start NBD Server.
after ~35 sec.
@hardlevel : do you use a original adapter ? anyway code has so much changed since this days, that you would try on latest.
Hi, yes I use the original on phat model, sure I will give a try tomorrow
Thanks
My question was a bit stupid, original is the only one to have network :D anyway, feel free to update to latest beta to make your test.
This is the behavior I'm getting too. Using the latest release d903dcd. Moment I press button to start the server it freezes, animation in the background stops and I never receive an error I just have to power off the system. I have tried removing all previous configs from all devices then removing everything I can including switching off the eth port. Saved brand new configs and tried again, same thing. I even tried removing the ulaunchelf ipconfig file. I have tried saving network configs with static ip using the same exact settings that work for me to run the hdl_svr_093.elf and install games, as well as DHCP, same results. I was hoping to get this working cause it seems the only way to install .zso without removing the HDD
I'm having the same exact problem on the latest build. My config is saved to pfs0. As soon as I select "Start NBD Server" the text says "NBD Server starting..." in a frozen state and the only thing I can do is turn off the console.
You should at least get Failed to start NBD Server. after ~35 sec.
Also having the same issue on 39001 Running OPL from HDD. I completely unplugged my Ethernet cord and it still freezes, does not error out. I ran with and without memory cards inserted (HDD isolated). Haven't tried loading from mc only though.
I am seeing the exact same issue with the latest v1.2.0-Beta-2065. If I start NBD server in OPL the system hangs. I tried the latest Grimdoomer OPL and NBD server loads no problem, so it must be something in newer builds. I downloaded and tried yesterday's release v1.2.0-Beta-2068-9cba7d7 and NBD server still doesn't start.
