- [X] I have checked existing OPL issues for duplicates and found none https://github.com/ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader/issues
- [X] I am using OPL beta version from https://github.com/ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader/releases/download/latest/OPNPS2LD-latest.7z
Describe the issue After selecting a network configuration the game will crash
Configuration (please complete the following information):

- Open PS2 Loader revision: [e.g. OPNPS2LD-c3f9ab8, OPL v1.0.0] / Any version
- Open PS2 Loader mode: USB

- Select a 'Network Configuration'
- it will crash at connecting to the network
Expected behavior connect and carry on
It crashes after this screen:
Did you try to unplug your PS2 from network?
Will you be able to get this message:
Do other games also have this problem? Are you using XLink Kai?
Do other games also have this problem
IFAIK no
Are you using XLink Kai?
No
Did you try to unplug your PS2 from network?
I will tried, the game was stilll unresponsive.
Works fine with ESR.
Can you test this game on a different console or through HDD?
I tried this game (PAL version) through HDD and after "Unable to connect to the network" I could select "Retry" or "Cancel". I can even go back to a single player campaign. There was no freeze\crash in meantime.
My PS2 is not connected to any network.
Theoretically PAL and NTSC version have got v1.00: http://redump.org/disc/197/, http://redump.org/disc/12984/.
sha1 of my iso is 53AAD9CF5EF00ED3CA4989BC123BAF0228F3921C ul format over USB.
unfortunately there are no servers online for Killzone PAL version, also Killzone PAL is probably a different build than the NTSC version. i cant test on my fat PS2 cuz it died and i only have a slim working atm.
Also this game is know to store its files near at the end of the disc. i suspect this is the problem.
multiple people reporting this
Game is working fine with the lasted PS2ESDL
Yeah. NTSC version through USB seems to crash at this screen:
Currently I don not have time to also check HDD...
While everything is fine with PAL through HDD.
Out of curiosity I have tried this version with OPL v1.0.0 and with rev1442...
Do you know if online in KillZone ever works? Did you check it with previous versions, e.g. OPL 0.9.3?
i was able to "revive" my fat ps2 and it works normaly over internal HDD, only USB crashes :\
Do you know if online in KillZone ever works?
yes it works.
Did you check it with previous versions, e.g. OPL 0.9.3?
probably yes i remember having this problem a long time ago.
I tested this game (NTSC) through USB and it also freezes on OPL 0.9.3. With OPL 0.8 I only have a BSOD after selecting online (Battlefields >> Online >>).
Maybe this game requires USB ports for some kind of peripherals?
Maybe this game requires USB ports for some kind of peripherals?
yes, headset and keyboard but they are optional. most like every other multiplayer game.
also this wouldnt make much sense since it works on PS2ESDL
Could you test this game with enabled mode 8? From what I remember this mode was removed in rev 1300.
The game crashes/freezes on both regular USB and MX4SIO. OPL beta 1.2 1920 . The Online Public Beta seems to work fine but you cant find any universe lists after you login. Maybe related to https://github.com/ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader/issues/363 ?

If this is the PAL Public beta, that's because they hard coded the IP in the main binary. You need a code to update it to point to our server.
TCES_520.0 Enable Code 9035AB18 0C0D6A6E
Killzone Update IP 20666E88 2E353331 20666E8C 2E383431 20666E90 2E343431 20666E94 00333532 20666E98 00000000
Yeah I found it later on but didn't the post. Thanks anyway.
The issue is also with the PAL version of the game, not only the NTSC version.
@carl0sjt @J013k can you test this game on Deckard slims with this opl version (from https://github.com/ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader/pull/952)?
tried v1.2.0-Beta-1990-31fdb3d with MX4SIO, the crash still happens. it didnt fix it :(
Not sure if it's related but PCSX2 had a similar issue until this PR fixed it: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/pull/8469 Might be useful for this as well maybe.
confirmed that fixed by #961
